Updating Scanner Calibration Profile with Calibration

I am using Silverfast 8 Ai Studio with Epson Perfection 4990 scanner and Silverfast 8 HDR on OSX 10.8 (Mountain Lion), latest versions.

The Epson scanner that I am using to scan negatives and normal photos, is not calibrated.

I scan and save all images in either 64HDRi for negatives and 48HDR for photos, for later processing with Silverfast HDR.

If I later calibrate the Epson scanner using the IT8 targets etc, can I use the updated calibrated profile of the scanner in Silverfast 8 HDR to process the scans? Put another way, can I replace the default scanner profile embedded in the HDR raw scans with the updated, calibrated profile of the scanner when doing the processing with Silverfast 8 HDR?

If this is possible, how do I do this?

Dear customer,

you can use a different input profile in SilverFast HDR Studio.
Open the SilverFast HDR (Studio) preferences and change the input profile in the CMS settings from <embedded> to the profile you want to use.

kind regards,

Dear Arne,

I am using Silverfast 8 (Ai and HDR), latest versions, on OSX Mountain Lion,

I have created a new calibration profile for my scanner using the IT8 process.

When I use this profile in Silverfast HDR Studio to process image files scanned in RAW (48bit HDR) mode, it works correctly if I do the following:

In Preferences, I select the new calibration profile for CMS - Input after I have opened the image file.

Problem:

It looks like it set it only for the open file, as it returns to the 'embedded' option and you have to set it for each image file after you have opened the file.

Is this correct?

How do I get Silverfast HDR to remember this setting and apply it to all images, including JobManager entries?

Dear customer,

No this is not the intended way.
I will ask our testing center to check this behavior.
If they can reproduce it we will forward it to our developers so this can be corrected.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
