I just switched from Windows 98 to XP Home Edition. Importing into Photoshop, Polacolor Insight works fine as does the SprintScan 4000. But with Silverfast I get a "No Scanner Found!" message. Anybody got any ideas?

Did SilverFast work correctly under Win98?
Did you install SilverFast on WinXP using the SilverFast installer? The installer also installs the ASPI library, which is needed by SilverFast and which is not part of the XP system.

same here

I'm having EXACTLY the same issue. I just changed from 98SE to XP, uninstalled Photoshop Elements, SilverFast and Insight. I upgraded to XP, reinstalled Elements, Insight then SilverFast in that order. Elements and Insight seem fine, but Silverfast v. 5.5.2r20(Polaroid) gives me the 'There was no scanner found!' error.

Silverfast worked fine for me on 98SE with Elements, and yes, I used the installer that I downloaded from www.silverfast.com a few days ago.

Any issue with plugging into Elements on XP ? Has anyone seen a similar issue and resolved it ???? I miss my plug-in...

thanks

Please download and install the latest aspi- layer drivers (version 4.71) available from adaptec's website:

- go to www.adaptec.com
- click on "downloads"
- select "windows XP" and scroll down...

Success !!

I've downloaded files which are zipfiles. How do you install the drivers?

....you unzip the file (You'll need winzip if you're not running Windows XP) The resulting folder will include instructions on how to install the drivers.
