LaserSoft Imaging

I had the same problem as "ddeo" above. Tried to use SilverFast Ai 5 with my new Polaroid SpringScan 4000 (on a PowerMac G3 running 9.2) and got the error message: "Could not complete the import command because of a problem with the Macintosh Code Fragment Manager.

I'd also be grateful for a fix.

I'm also getting that same error message when trying to use the silverfast 5.5 demo.

I've also tried the Twain plug-in, only to have Photoshop version 6, vers. 5 and vers. 4 quit at start up. I then installed P.shop plug in (but removed the Silverfast Twain installation first by reinstalling my Polaroid default extensions from my Insight 5.03 scanning software) only to get the Macintosh Fragment Manager error message.
(had problems in all versions of P.Shop)

What gives? I'd sure love to try out this new software but it seems the scanning Gods aren't letting me do so. Hopefully there is a fix for this as I'm looking forward to trying out the Silverfast demo on my 'problematic' negatives.

Are there known conflicts with any particular software? I do have a Keyspan USB card installed in my Mac, but I think I'll post first and see if there is any 'quick fix' before I start doing the extension detective work.

Sprintscan 4000, Using Polaroid Insight 5.03 scanning software

Mac G-3 beige DT,
System 8.6 with all appropriate updates.
384 megs-o-ram
Keyspan USB PCI card
ATI Rage Orion Video Card

I don't know why you should be getting such errors on the Mac platform. I have the SS4000 and SS120 both running on a G4 OS9.2.2 and they both ran on 9.04 right thru.

You might want to disable some extensions and see if that helps

We recently had some users whith this Problem. It seems to be that there is a Version of Polacolor out, in which the extension "Polaroidssfwfamily" has a size of 121kb, instead of 12kb which would be normal. If the scanner is not connected via FireWire, this extension can be disabled. After rebooting, everything will run fine. Otherwise, please get the newest version of Polacolor Insight from Polaroid's website.

The SprintScan 4000 is a SCSI device and so should not require any of the Polaroid Firewire or USB extensions.
