Hi,
I have noticed that with SF 6.0.2.37, the strange banding phenomenon** has returned. Past advice to correct this has been to select anti-aliased interpolation, but unfortunately, this no longer corrects the problem. Just to be sure I could trust my eyes, I performed identical scans with Polaroid Insight and the banding was not present. Has anyone else noticed this?

** Banding is irregularly spaced vertical sections of the scan that appear more grainy and more blurred at the same time. All filters are off (USM, SRD, etc.).

Acting on information in a post from "lodaniel" in the "Talk about SF 6" forum, I uninstalled SF HDR 5.5 and the banding completely disappeared. This is a welcome solution to the problem, but it would be nice to be able to install both SF products at the same time. BTW, I have separate SF versions for a flatbed scanner(Epson Expression 1600), the Polariod SS120, and of course, HDR. When installing each SF version, I used separate folders under the Adobe/Photoshop 7/plug-ins/Import-Export forlder (i.e., folders named SF Epson, SF Polaroid and SF HDR). This method seemed to prevent conflicts between the different preferences and preview files, but I guess it didn't prevent the interaction between SF6 and SF HDR. Curious.

Hi,
While fiddling around this afternoon, I tried a scan with some rather large adjustments in the selective color dialog and, you guessed it, the banding returned. Leaving all settings the same except for resetting selective color to "no adjestment" and rescanning the same frame, the banding disappeared again. Strange...very strange...

You could send our support team some info about your precise configuration and a scanned image to illustrate the problem at support@silverfast.de.

The problem might always be there but more visible when some color corrections are applied. If the lines are in the scan direction, it could be a calibration problem.
