Native Epson 4870 Scan Utility No Longer Works

Since installing Silverfast AI Studio for my Epson 4870, the native Epson scanner software does not work with any applications. (I use Windows XP Home.) They claim they cannot communicate with the scanner anymore. Primarily I use PaperPort 8, Adobe Acrobat 6, and Photoshop CS2.

Dear pbates

as SilverFast doesn't install its own drivers, but uses the ones installed by Epson, I guess the connection is only correlating in time, but not causally linked.

However, I would suggest you de-install the Epson software and then re-install the latest drivers from the support section of the Epson website. After a reboot I would suppose things are back to normal.
