Duplicate Silverfast icons in Photoshop

I note that when installing Silverfast 6 to work within Photoshop, I now get duplicate icons in the Import menu in Photoshop. For example, Silverfast Ai produces an Ai icon as well as an Ai (M) icon. HDR produces an HDR and an HDR (M) icon.

What it the purpose of the duplicates (ie. the icon with and without the brackets M?) When I open the non (M) and (M) icon they seem to do exactly the same thing. What does (M) mean?

Dear EricLawrie -
Please deinstall all you installed from SilverFast. Remove also anything of SilverFast from your Import / Export folder, clean the trash and reinstall SilverFast again. I never heared from what you descibed. In the case, the problem still appears - please write me what SilverFast version - computer system and Photoshop version you use.

with regards
Christoph

Dear Eric.

Are you using a Nikon scanner on a MAC ?

In this case SilverFast Ai (Nikon) would be our own implementation for MAC OSX. The SilverFas Ai (NikonM) would be for OS9, where we are using the MAID modules (a library) from Nikon. The difference of normal and "Maid" version is, that the Maid version uses digital ICE, the normal vesion doesn?t, due to license problems.

The HDR versions shouldn?t have a "M" extension. This sounds strange.

Eric.

I am using the Nikon LS2000 under WinXP on a PC. I have now tried deinstalling in various ways but each time I intall SilverFast 6, I still get 2 x HDR and 2 x Nikon(M) icons. I am puzzled.
