Hello,

I have a Plustek 7200 slide scanner which came with Silverfast 6.6.2r5. I was running this setup happily on Windows 7 for some time, but have got a new laptop with Win8 on it. Now Silverfast crashes every time I scan a slide. It scans OK, but having to restart the program is a pain. I appreciate that this version is probably not compatible with Win8, but I also notice that Silverfast 8 does not support my scanner

Has anyone got any thoughts on what I could do to resolve this?

Dear Al,

SilverFast 6 unfortunately is not supported under Windows 8. The last supported operating system was Windows 7.
Please also note that Plustek also only supports this device up to Windows 7. This is why there is no SilverFast 8 for it.
Try resetting SilverFast to factory defaults, maybe the preferences got damaged.
Also make sure no security software tries to scan the files being saved.
