Silverfast 8 and exposure with ADF

Hi,

I'm using Silverfast 8 to scan 35mm B&W negative whole strips using ADF Scan on a Coolscan 9000 and having problems with exposures. If the strip has a dark underexposed frame at the beginning, Silverfast adjusts the exposure for it and then the rest of the strip frames (which are correctly exposed) end up scanned really overexposed. Can you please explain me how I can configure Silverfast 8 to scan the whole strip at a fixed "normal" exposure that I can use for all frames?

Also, what settings would I use to ensure I I capture an exposure range as wide as possible? I'm not interested in getting print-ready files from Silverfast, just a scan that captures as much as possible of the information on the negative, which I can then tweak in PS/Lightroom.

Thanks,
Arkaitz

Dear Arkaitz,

Have you tried scanning such images individually?
You can exclude individual images from being scanned in ADF mode by de-selecting them in the overview.
You can then tend to those images individually in normal scanmode.
