Should Nikon VED users that shot XPan photo buy Silver Fast?

Hi friends and moderator,

I shoot both Leica and Xpan photos, mostly positive film. I have been using Nikon Scan for many years and only interested in SilverFast recently becoz of its GCC function that can cast away the yellowish tone from indoor restaurant shots taken with RVP. Hence, I downloaded the demo version and tried. However, as a heavy Xpan shooter, I found that the film scanner CANNOT detect the position of Xpan film correctly and there is no tools for readjusting the film position as I can easily do in Nikon scan.

Is it just the problem of the demo version? or there is really NO WAY that SilverFast can scan Xpan? Hope I can become a user of Silver Fast but if this cannot be solved, I think I have no choice but go back to my Nikon Scan.

Thanks for answering in advance.

Best regards,
Terence :)

Anne,

Thanks a lot for your close follow-up. It's great that SilverFast now support film offset for scanning Xpan film. I'm buying it.

Cheers,
Terence
