I just got Silverfast SE Plus 6.5.5r1 for my Nikon LS 50 (Coolscan V Ed) scanner.
I'm having problems scanning images off of a negative film strip.
I'm using Multi Exposure mode.
When I attempt to scan the third image on the filmstrip, I can prescan it, set it all up, get all the filters and settings right but then when I actually scan the image, it either scans the first image on the strip of attempts to scan the third but eventually hangs. The scanner just blinks and scans very slowly in spurts; and it scans garbage.
If I try to scan the fourth image, it always gets the first image instead.
I was able to scan the second image on the strip without any problems.
I have no such problems scanning the same image using Nikon Scan 4.02.
I'm on Intel Mac OS X MacBook 10.4 Core 2 Duo.
Is there a bug or am I doing something wrong ?
Thanks !
Andi..
scanning negatives from filmstrip fails
Dear ovaltofu
issues like this are unfortunately known. While you say it will work with Nikonscan, I doubt that actually the same things happen, because we could retrace all of the latest problems with Intel based Macs to the NikonMAID driver modules.
At time of writing, we thus consider developing our own method of accessing those scanners in order to stay future compatible.
If you like, we will examine your issue in detail. Please don't hesitate to contact support: http://www.silverfast.com/problemreport/en.html
