How do I turn off automatic edge/frame detection?

in Batch (File) mode, scanning from the SF-210 slide adapter, SF seems to be automatically detecting the frame edge and resetting the scan frame for each slide. however, it is not necessary. my slides are consistently mounted and the edges are fairly predictable.

so how do I turn off the Auto-Frame method used during Batch processing?

if I save a Frame Set with my desired dimensions, SF uses that frame set but it first auto-detects the edges of the slide and then places the frame set in the top left corner of the auto-detected region. this means that it include the fuzzy edges of the top and left sides of the frame and misses portions from the right and bottom of the frame.

so how do I turn off the automatic edge detection and positioning, instead always using the frame size and position that I specify before clicking the Scan button?

regards,
Gregory

Dear Gregory,

to my knowledge there is no AutoFrame performed during Batch mode.
I have just checked this by drawing some frame in the lower right part of the scanable area (to be able to see if an AutoFrame overwrites this).
The resulting images in the Batch were scanned from this frame area, and I could not find AutoFrame to be performed.

Please check this in your side again. Thank you.

Dear Martin,

I believe you are correct. small differences in the positions of our mounted negatives probably gave the illusion that SF was auto-framing.

I have now adjusted the scanning frame (marquee) so that it is further within the maximum scanning area. there will therefore never be a white edge on the scans again.

I once read that for lossless rotation of Jpeg images, pixel dimensions must be in multiples of 8. could SF consider making it easier for us to set 8x dimensions?

Gregory
