Silverfast cannot find scanner after uninstall/re-install
PostPosted: Tue Jan 03, 2006 8:03 pm
Interface: Photoshop CS2 and Standalone
Scanner: Nikon Super Coolscan 5000
Connection type: USB
SilverFast type: Ai Studio
SilverFast version: 6.2.0
Operating system: Windows XP
I had installed Silverfast AI Studio and used it for a few scans
successfully. I uninstalled the software and re-installed (un related
reason). Now I when I bring it up (either via PhotoShop CS2 plug-in or in
stand alone) It hangs on the intial screen saying 'Searching for Scanning
Hardware' (or something just like that). Basically it seems it cannot find
the scanner.
The Nikon4.02 software is installed and can access the scanner just fine.
Also, I can see the scanner listed correctly in 'System Devices'.
I have tried un-installing and installing again with the same result. I
have noticed that although I have deleted everthing (uninstall and cleaned
out the registry settings) I never prompted for the serial number
registration (this only happened the first time I installed) so it seem
like it is not completley un installed.
