Silverfast cannot find Filmscanner Coolscan IV ED

Postby martyka » Sun Dec 04, 2005 3:15 pm

Hi,

I had a problem with Silverfast 5 and 6. Silvefast started up, but the scanner was not detected. I was very angry, but I began to search. I found a tread in the Silverfast forum from Mr. Trevor White. (viewtopic.php?t=3614)

After studying the trade, I searched on my PC (Gigabyte motherboard, AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Venice CPU) and I find out, that the problem comes from the file: C:\WINDOWS\system32\ wnaspi32.dll, which was installed from Silverfast (Date of these file: 17.07.2002, 44 KB)

I deleted this file and Silverfast works correctly. If I replaced these file again, than there was the same mistake. Then I overwrite the wnaspi32.dll with another version wnaspi32.dll from nero, and Silvefast worked correctly. I don?t rebooted the PC, I started only Silverfast again. I must tell, that I don?t know, what wnaspi32.dll does.

Thanks to Mr. White.

Best Regards

Martin Fehrle, Karlsruhe, Germany

Hey,

Let us know what you find out from technical support, if you don't mind.
