importing settings with nikon LS5000 ED

Postby DEH » Thu Sep 15, 2005 8:07 am

Hi

I have been working with the Nikon LS5000 ED for a few years now and have quite a few settings saved to my hard drive. I have recently aquired a new PC and had the administrator install the scanner for me. The problem is when i try to import my old settings i receive an error message like "can not save to settings file". We can not (my administrator and i) find where the settings file is to allow me access. My administrator however can import my previously saved settings. Can you help please? :-?

Cheers
Kirsty

Dear Kirsty

if you admin can do it with his admin account and you cannot with your user account, the problem is based on file permissions rights.
Please ask your admin to change owner and/or read-write file rights so that you as a user no longer have trouble to access them.

This basically is rather on OS filesystem related problem rather than a SilverFast specific one, so I am sorry I cannot help more here, but I guess the nudge in that direction should give your admin person a clue :)
