I have a kodak IT8 slide (IT8.7/1-1993 1999:07 35. can I use this to calibrate the scanner. Do I still need to buy the full calibration option?

Does 5.5 have options to make use of the ICE/Gem/ROC facilities of the Nikon LS40ED? Is this in the demo?

I have downloaded the demo can I pay by credit card and get a serial number to change the demo to a full version?

Many Thanks for any comment

IT8 target / ICE-ROC-GEM

IT8-target: If you already have a Kodak Q60 target and the reference data, you can save some money when buying the IT8-calibration option.
ICE: ICE is supported by SilverFast Ai and just a button to switch on or off. The function is exactly the same as in the Nikon software.
ROC: Restoration of colours is a function that can already be achieved with the combination of our Auot-Adjust and Selective Colour Correction. The Selective Colour Correction is capable to do a much more differentiated job on restoring faded out colours. In the future we will add a function that will also do that fully automatic.
GEM: Grain reduction is a function that we are working on. Expect something good within the first quarter of next year.
Demo-versions: Demo-versions of SilverFast cannot be made into full working versions. Only SilverFast SE versions can be tried and the bought online.
Also when you buy the full version, you will get a full (280 page) updated SilverFast manual!

I have just replaced my scanner software from Nikonscan 3.1 to the most current version of Silverfast.

WOW!

I would not have believed it possible that one software product could be so fantastic. Keep up the great work! To all owners of the Nikon LS4000 using any other software, run, don't walk, to your telephone and ugrade
to Silverfast. We've spent a bundle on a great scanner. We should be able to utilize its fullest potential.

In the mean time, I look forward to LaserSoft issuing an update with grain-reduction capabilities.
