Raw scan by SF Ai (Demo 6.2.2d1)

Postby Alexz » Mon Oct 04, 2004 9:35 am

Once CMS isn't applied (Input -> Internal = None), can I be sure SF provides pure raw scan data ?
This is necessary to understand in order to work with custom ICC scanner profiles I'm going to create and to work with in Photoshop.

In order to get raw, shall I also dismiss the Adobe RGB 98 from (Internal in Profiles for ICM) ? But if I dismiss it I also cannot with with monitor profile (the system doesn't allow to apply monitor profile without setting above.

Thanks in advance, Alex

Dear Alex

to get raw data you want to use the HDR scan modes in SilverFast Ai or SE and work on the scanned images with SilverFast HDR.

If you select Input > Internal = None in the upper third of the CMS panel of the option dialogue, any input profile chosen in the mid third of the CMS panel is ignored.
The upper third is the activation / deactivatio part of the CMS panel.
Therefore it is not necessary to dismiss the internal profile also.

Kind regards

Thanks for the prompt response.
So far I couln't find HDR mode option in Ai demo, can you tell me more ?
What is HDR ?

BTW, if you say setting None in Input -> Internal ignores any profile settings in second third of CMS panel, wouldn't it be enough just to set None
in Input -> Internal to obtain raw scans (no CMS applied) or SF will do some additional processing aside of CMS ?
