Film Strip Offset Tool

Postby steintal » Sat Aug 14, 2004 11:14 am

I work with the Nikon LS-2000 scanner and Silverfast 6.0.2r31 under Mac OS 9.2.2 and have problems with scanning negativ strips (film strip adapter SA20). In the preview of the 4 images, usually an only one is well adjusted, each single definite preview of the other three images has to be adjusted in several steps with the help of the Film strip offset Tool.
Does anybody know, if the quality oft the scan does decrease/diminish using this Film Strip offset Tool several times with/for the same image? How does this Tool function? (I do not mean, what I have to do, but how the adjustment is achieved?)

Dear steintal,

the Film Offset has no influence on the quality. - But if you scan two much black surrounding on the image and you use the automatic on the picture it will be not as good as the one which perfectly fits to the frame.

And I would recommend to update as the offset tool as been reworked meanwhile.

kind regards
