Can anyone explain how the Nikon 4000 fitted with a bulk film feeder (for slides) works?
For example can you only scan raw or to one preset setting? Or can you add 50 slides to the Job Manager and scan each with individual settings?
Using bulk slide feeder with Silverfast

Yes
with SilverFast you can add 50 images to the JobManager and scan each with individual settings. Select an image - select the edit button - choose your settings - save it and select another image to work on it.

Thank you. I understand how the Job Manager works as I use it all the time! My question is specifically about the 50 frame slide holder and how it works. Can the Nikon 4000 move slides back and forward though the adaptor so that I can make colour etc settings to each frame, add the frame to Job Manager and then scan all 50 pictures?

You are right - this 50 dia frameholder runs only in one direction
But this is not a problem. Use BatchScan and scan all images with 48bit HDR ( here you only have to choose the resolution ) and afterwords work with the SilverFast HDR from your SilverFast disk.
With SilverFast HDR you use the JobManager and add all images to the Jobmanager.
SilverFast HDR works much faster than the SilverFast version for your scanner - you will really enjoy it
