Nikon LS-4000: scanning with AI5.50r.09 (as Twain in Kodak Imaging) results in several stripes in the scan (stripes one pixel wide, several hundred pixels long, perpendicular to scan direction, different length, position and color) Scanning sounds like 'stop and go'. Mouse movements seem to cause more stripes.

Stripes do not appear when scanning with Nikon Scan 3.1 software (scanning sounds continuous).

I tried to have as few processes as possible in the background. My system: PC, Asus K7V (Via 133) board, Athlon 1 GHz, 768 MHz RAM, Win98SE).

What could be the solution?

Dear Guenter,
as it seems your Windows does not allocate that much RAM memory to Kodak Imaging program. You can change this by determining for example the cache size of programms by youself (control panel > system). However, I do not recommend to use Kodak Imaging for your work, now that you bought such expensive equipment. There are better programs to work with.
