1. Is it always better to multi sapmle B&W Negs whenever possible to get a cleaner scan?

2. Also I heard about possible banding with the Coolscan 8000, to use super fine mode helps?!? are there any tips??? 8)

3. Is it best to use "generic greyscale" as a profile for B&W???

4. should I use the IT8 slide if I'm doing Greyscale scans?

1. The multisample mode filters the noise. You get slightly better results with this.

2. don't know about that.

3. Please use generic grey (with gamma of your choise) and grey mode. (8/16 bit)

4. You don't need any calibration, when you scan B/W negatives. Be aware, that you don't use the ICE function, cause this destroy the pictures from silver B/W negatives.
