Jaggies when using color management settings - LS2000

I just reinstalled SF 5.5.2r20 as a PS plug-in (PS 5.5) on a WIN XP platform. As long as I turn off calibration the images look like they used to on my WIN98 machine with SF version 5.3.2, but as soon as I enable color magagement (set to Calibration) I get jagged scans with the banding I've read about in other posts. Turn off management and the scans are fine.

This doesn't happen with the Nikon Scan software or v**s**n, but since I already invested a considerable amount of $$ in SF I'd like to get it to work for me.

Any ideas?
FWIW, I disabled color management in the Nikon Software, re-installed SF but I'm still havin the same results.

Please set the SilverFast interpolation mode to Anti-Aliased.

Did that - no difference. Is this something that is exclusive to XP? THe only different thing about this PC is that I'm using an Adaptec 2940 instead of the imbedded Adaptec 2940 controller in my old motherboard. I have an external Fast SCSI 50 pin connector connected via a ribbon cable to the card (as I had in the last PC).
This problem only occurs in Silverfast when using Color Management/IT8 Calibration - like I mentioned before, if I set Color Management - Scanner > Internal to "none" the problem goes away.
