streaky lines in shadows areas - AI6 - 8000 ED ?

Hi,

Your software is a great improvement on the Nikon software - which was slow, dreadful colour and not particularly sharp unless you calibrated every individual scan.

However, there seems to be faint lines in the shadow areas of certain scans - see link below

Also streaky lines - highlights bleeding into shadow areas see link below

I'm running win XP - AI v6 - Nikon 8000 ED with calibration on - batch scan on - (same result in single scan mode) - auto sharpen is on - 4500 dpi - digital ICE is on too.

Please can you advise on how to remedy this problem. It seems to be particularly bad with high contrast images.

thank-you

Giles

Goto "options", "special", and select "Super Fine Scan"

This disables the trilinear scanmode, which is causing these lines.
Result is no more lines, but a three times longer scantime!

The lines are the result of the scanner scanning three lines at a time.
Its a known "bug" or shortcoming of the LS8000, and show worse on one scanner compared to the other. But esp. in the dark parts.

Regards,

Xander Janssen

tip: try v**s**n also, some scans are done better on Silverfast and many with v**s**n!!!
