#1 Photoshop version 6 Silverfast AI version 6 plugin. Having problems with scanned positive image being cutoff in preview window. The right side is cutoff. I try moving the silverfast window all the way to left of the 22" screen and the scanned image is still cutoff. Only way to get full image is to click the magnifier and then I get a rescan of same image. When I scan next image from the transparency loader, same thing the right side of image is cutoff. The crop tool will not extend to full image on right side.

After saving image to disk and Silverfast reopens the previous image comes back and it is very distorted. this leads us to problem #2

#2 When I use the trash Icon to delete an image that I am finished with it deletes all my information like <save to file>& <resolution settings>etc. I can understand deleting color settings, because they would be different each time.

#3 Batch scans do not work. They did work when I used version Silverfast 5.5 on my other drive with Windows 2000 Pro. I can not do batch scans on my current drive with Windows XP PRO and Silverfast AI version 6

Got any ideas? This is the first time that I have used this forum. I have no idea what some of your options mean. What is a BBCode etc?

Dear Bob Detmers -
I have tested once more the LS 8000 under WIN XP - Photoshop 6 with our newest version SF 6.0.1r28. i didn?t find the bugs you prescibed - everything works fine. Please download your newest version from our website. And please look in our manual - it is correct, when you use the trash button, that you will delete your informations. The settings belong to the active frame. If you like to save the settings, please use the button settins and save it for the following pictures .
Best regards - Christoph Sperling

Christoph, Thanks for getting back!

"Everything works fine with other similar machines". I was beginning to believe that already because I searched the site for other similar problems and found nothing. So the partial image thing is unique to mine.

At first I thought that it might be related to screen resolution or settings but it is not.

I have reloaded both Photoshop and Silverfast trying to eliminate the clipping problem and it has not done any good.

I will look for the button settings that will save my scan settings. In my opinion, the only settings that should go away after a scan with the trash button are the color enhancement settings. Everything else should remain constant for the next consecutive scan. To re set everything everytime is non productive.

Another software problem that I have discovered is that the IT8 color references folder is empty when I try to do a color calibration with my color targets under the Silverfast program. If I go to Windows explorer and open the IT8 color refrences folder there all the target information is complete. The Silverfast software program is not finding the files and the folder is completely blank under the calibration program.

What I have to do is do a browse when I want to calibrate the machine and pull the files off the CD rom. It will then find the proper file from the CD disk only.
