some of my dias are underexposed.
e.g. there is a dark ocean view, all very dark blue and grey just the top of the waves are shining white.
This kind of slide is scanned in even more underexposed.
My workaround to get a better scan is to put the lamp on maximum.

Isnt there a way to manipulate the exposere?

Silverfast 6, IT8 calibrated, Nikon 4000 ED. Windows 2000

As it is a filmscanner you do use a transparency. Is it positive or negative?

with Negative there is an extra slider for exposure in the "NegaFix" dialog.

With both (neg and pos) there is a button in SilverFast (second from left, next to magnifying glass) this is the auto correction of SilverFast.

Lastly there is the Histogram-tool, where you can balance mid tones and extreme tones. (The histogram button is right of the Auto correction button.
