Corrupt 16 bit grayscale tif w/ 4000 and 5.5

I'm using a Nikon 4000 with v5.5.2r20 plug-in version and SF_App. Windows 2000, sp3. 512 MB RAM.

Every 16 bit grayscale tif file is corrupt, with left 1/2 the frame black and the right half misaligned vertical slices of the image.

14, 24 and 48 bit output are all fine. v**s**n's 16 bit gray scale output is also fine.

I'm scanning at 2000 dpi, 4x samplng, no ICE.

Is there a fix?

Hello,

I tested Windows XP with the Nikon LS 4000 ED with SilverFast Ai 5.5.2r20 and 6.0.1r11 and don't get your problem (4xmultisampling, 2000dpi, 16bit grey, noICE). Could you please send me one tiff with this error ? Also a SF_Logfile would be fine.
You could try to discard the preferencefiles of SilverFast. In most cases it help with strange behavior.

kind regards

Re-installed and deleted prefs. I am still getting the same problem.

One difference is that I am using windows 2000, you are using XP.

Any other ideas?

16 and 48 bit work fine when silverfast is run from Photoshop 7.

However none of the hi bit saves - 16, 16 hdr, 48, 48 hdr are working from sf_spp. The 48 bit files have aan unexpected end of file error message.

I deleted and reinstalled sf_app. I'm using version 1.10
