LaserSoft Imaging

I bought the EPSON 1680/pro scanner and with it came Silverfast 5.x
However, after filling out the registering window - name, company, serialnumber - I CANNOT pass this window! The serialnumber which I copied from the back of the Silverfast manual remains highlighted.
I there anyone who can help me to get past this window? I'm using Windows XP and. Lasersoft isn't replying to any of my queries. Help!
