LaserSoft Imaging

Hi - Ok I am new to Silverfast and I am struggling to get started with the basics! I can normally pick things up quite quickly but not this time!

So I am using a Canon 9000f and I am principally going to being scanning new and old 35mm negatives so that I can archive them and use them in Lightroom 3. But before I get to Lightroom I need to learn how to scan the negatives in a way that I can use them - so far when I scan them I don't get individual photo's but it seems to scan the whole negative and store them as a negative 'strip'.

I tried using Canon's MP Navigator and that scanned the negatives and gave me individual photo's which is what I want. How do I do this with Silverfast?

I realise this is pretty basic but until I get this right I can't move on to next stages!

Any help or pointing in the right direction would be appreciated!

Dear Chris,

To scan individual images you need individual scan frames for each image-
you can either use the find frames option in the frames menu or you draw them individually by hand.

In the standard configuration the red scan frame incorporates the entire scan plane.
If you want to draw frames by hand you you can simply resize that frame and click and drag to create new ones.
