Hi,
I am using a Polaroid SprintScan 120 and was curious if SilverFast 5.5 supports multi-pass scanning for this scanner. I had been using SF 5.2 for scanning 120 transparencies with an Epson Expression 1600 flatbed scanner and the multi-pass option for that scanner/software combination really improved image quality (reduced noise mostly). It would be a really nice feature for the SS120 also.
Thanks in advance for your response.
Clay

Multi-Sampling with Polaroid scanner

Currently no Polaroid scanner, in fact not any other scanner beside EPSON, is mechanically precise enough to allow us to use software multi-sampling. We are talking to Polaroid to allow multi-sampling on a stationary scan line in the future.
Epson scanner users are lucky ones to have this feature with SilverFast.

dear sir,
have u ever noticed that multi scanning causes bluriness!
also notice that the newest gen firewire scanner from umax microtek agfa flatbeds does not support multi scanning.
one pass is more than enough if u have 2700dpi and a TRUE 3.6 D-range!
