LaserSoft Imaging

I have a lot of old color negatives by Agfa and Kodak.

The Agfa is CNS 400 (1219), XR 100 i (4398) and Kodak (5035).

I cannot find any of these in the list. What would be the best fit?

Also I probably make a major error when making a batch scan. The color is ok only in the first two images.The result looks like:



My SilverFat Ai version is V6.6.2r5

We unfortunately can only offer those negative films for which we can get the necessary profiling films.
These are only available for a limited number of films and are no longer produced.
In SilverFast Ai (studio) you can search for a similar film and then adjust the film profile until it fit's you needs.
It can then be saved as a custom film profile.

Please make sure your scanframe is placed correctly around your image content.
If unexposed material gets inside the frame the histogram is wrong and the film adjustment can not work correctly,

I tried all possible Agfa negatives available. None of them were any good. This is strange, because using my old Nikon VED scanner there is only one choice and the result is excellent. Maybe you should try harder to get the old films? One of the main reasons to use scanning negatives are the old negs.

The second problem had nothing to do with placing the negatives. I just did not know how to use the batch scanning mode. And I have to say that the user interface is one of the most counter intuitive that I have ever seen. (And believe me, I have seen many).

Also I think you should re-think the policy of your discussion forum. Now it took 4 days to get the answer. That is unacceptable. There are many good examples of discussion forums where the users discuss and give hints and information how to use the software. So it is no wonder that the number of users of the forum is very small. Users learn your policy very quickly and probably start using other software.

As now, the user interface of the software and the lag to get answers to problems suggest that my usage of Silverfast will be very short, unfortunately.

Unfortunately it is not just a thing of trying-harder.
For many film types the necessary profiling targets simply do not exist.
