Silverfast 6.6 as photo editor ?

Just got a Plustek 7600i (haven't installed it yet).
Looking at the documentation that came in the box, and the documentation on both Plustek's and SilverFast's websites
(scanner came with version 6.6), I get the impression that the SilverFast software can operate as a completely independent, stand-alone, photo editor.
Without any scanner or other photo editing (including PhotoShop) program association. Is that true?.......Izzy

Dear Izzy,
the bundled SilverFast is only for scanning. If you want editing your scanned images you need SilverFast
HDR (
https://www.silverfast.com/48bit-hdr-software/).

I should have asked this in my original reply, thaning you for answering my original question. I hope you don't mind.
I'll be installing the software SilverFast 6.6 (Ai studio) on a PC, running Windows Xp. The computer is also equipped with PhotoShop CS3.
I do not however want to install the SilverFast program as a PhotoShop plug-in.
I scan only to file. Never to PhotoShop, or any other photo-editor for that matter.
I'd prefer installing the SilverFast program, simply to supplement the scanning software that installs as part of the Plustek installation, to be used when I want more control or finer tuning (so to speak), of the scan itself.
How do I do that?
Installation instructions in the SilverFast manual (downloaded from the website) indicate that it might be possible, but aren't clear on how......Izzy

Dear Izzy,
you must install the photoshop/standalone version of SilverFast. Than you can start SilverFast with the SilverFast Launcher.
