iSDR removes eyebrows!

Often iSDR on my Plustek 7600i removes things that shouldn't be removed, like portions of eyebrows, eyeglasses, stems on flowers or leaves, a ship's antenna, etc. I thought the infra red scan was able to detect what was part of the film and what wasn't. So why does iSDR sometimes remove things that are clearly part of the slide? I have gone into the iSDR window to decrease the iSDR sensitivity, but then iSDR doesn't catch all the flaws that should be removed.
I'd like to use iSDR in "auto" mode because it's faster than going into the iSDR window. With over 4000 slides (plus uncounted negatives) to scan, anything I can do to speed the process is important. I was hoping "auto iSDR" would work.
All my slides are Kodachrome. I have the chosen Kodachrome in the General tab.
Thanks.
