It's Nikonians Podcast 105's fault

Yup. That's how I got here. And I'm very glad to have found that podcast!
I have not yet purchased a scanner or your software and I'm very curious if there is a thread somewhere that explains quality as it relates to scanning both 35mm film and/or medium format film (120/220).
I shoot real estate for a living using a Nikon D3. However, earlier this year I purchased a Mamiya RB67 and a Nikon F5.
I recently shot some properties with both 35mm film and Medium Format film (new to me) and I even bracketed some of the angles I shot. I employ a high dynamic range workflow from capture to merging to HDR to output in post processing (digitally), but will need to find a scanning solution in order to get 35mm film and 120/220 film scanned to then manipulate further in post. Thankfully I have a good lab nearby that has been around forever and caters to professionals... however, they charge $5-$10 per scan which is why I recently began looking into buying a scanner myself.
Any links to some resources would be greatly appreciated.
Something I didn't mention or ask.... Is there any benefit when shooting 35mm to shoot to slide film or just stick with negative? My scenes are wide dynamic range monsters, hence why I bracket digitally and will likely need to bracket scenes with film as well. I was told negative is better for a wider dynamic range over slide. Thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
