HDRi

I'm trying to figure out the HDRi functions with iSRD. Lasersoft advertising says that it can be used with all kinds of film. Does this include B&W film? I know that ICE does not work with most older B&W, is this different? I'm new to the forum and pretty new to scanning, but have spend a lot of time getting up to speed. I have both a Nikon 9000_ED and an Epson V750 and am looking to restore a lot of very old B&W negatives - some of them over 100 years old.

Dear t Miller,
the problem with classical B&W Films are that they use a silver layer that blocks the infra red signal so we can not work with it.
There are some newer B&W Films called Chromagen which do basically work like a color film they would also work with ICE and iSRD.

That's what I thought. I guess I'll have to do it the hard way. I do have a lot of Kodachrome slides, so it will be useful when I get up to working on color.
Thanks for the response

Dear Mr. Miller,
yes I guess so but I think our SRD should be a good help for this task.

Depending on how well the Kodachrome was processed and if it was underexposed, you may have some issues with the infrared dust detection for the same reason.
Consider wet mounting for the CS9000 - it can minimize the dust and scratch issue for both B&W and Kodachrome.
google wet mounting cs9000 . there are several around.
