Slides that are red

I have some slides that have turned red with time. Is there a way to restore their color using SilverFast SE Plus? I know I can turn them into black and white but was hoping to somewhat restore their colors.

Dear Jim,

it realy depends on how strong the reddish colour cast is.
Please supply us with a sample or try the demo version of SIlverFast.

Yes, unfortunately, they are very red indeed and very like no software and hardware combination will restore them.

This is what the original, unedited one looks like:

This is almost the best I can do when I try to restore the original colors:

I would just through them away, but they have special family significance to me.

Dear Jim,

this slide really looks bad, I do not see a chance to get the proper colors of this slide back as it really is heavily damaged.
