I have a couple of questions about the latest Silverfast, 6.6.1 is it ?

1) Is it genuinly 64bit compatible? I installed a 64bit OS as it is supposed to be faster for processing large image files etc, so will the latest Silverfast be able to take advantage of that?

2) I understand that Canon's FARE is not supported, but iSRD is. I deliberatly bought the Canon because of FARE. When, if at all, will FARE be supported?

3) When will there be support for Windows 7?

The SilverFast Versions that we list as compatible with Vista 64 or XP 64 do run smoothly on these systems, SilverFast performance would not increase dramatically by making it a 64Bit application(most Apps that run on Vista 64 are not 64Bit applications or just partially 64Bit. Please note that we however support MultiProcessor and MultiCore systems.

There will not be a SilverFast version supporting FARE, as you already noticed iSRD is our technology for infra red scanning. iSRD gives you far more functionality like Kodachrome support or serveral defect mask layers and a easy to use but yet powerful automatic mode.

After its official release we will issue a list of scanners already supported by Windows7, at the moment we allready test with the current release of Windows7 we got from Microsoft and it looks promissing but it would not make any sense to say anything before we have a definite release version of Windows7.
