"an error occured at the start of the scanning process"

Hello,
I have a new Plustek 7500i, but for some reason I can't scan anything.
The silverfast keeps telling me that the "scanner is not ready".
What can I do?

Dear Noa,

this is propably due to a driver that was not installed correctly or maybe corrupted prefs.
I would really like you to get in touch with our Tech support via our Support Assistant as we are
able to deal with your problem much faster.
