Basic question about using Silverfast

I have an Epson Perfection 2450, and installed Silver Fast Ai 6 about 6 months ago. I used it a couple of times to do simple scans with no problems. At that time, I did not have Photoshop installed on my computer (I use Win XPHE SP3), but have since installed PS CS3. Now when I try to open Silverfast, the SFLaunch screen gives me a window in which I must designate a Plug-In folder. I do not know what to use as a plug-in folder - it gives me the Epson folder, but I do not know which subfolder I should use. I have also installed it as a plug-in in Photoshop, and I can open Silverfast from within Photoshop, but I don't always want to do that - I'd just like to scan a document to send via email, etc, not work on in Photoshop. Forgive me if this question is incoherent, but I don't really know enough to ask the right questions. I guess what I'd really like to know is how to open Silverfast with the Launcher as I did before.

Thanks for any help.

Glenna

Dear Glenna,

is it possible that you moved the SilverFast *.8ba file from the SilverFast Application directory into the plugin directory of Photoshop ?

The easiest way for you would probably be to just reinstall SilverFast.

No, all my Silverfast files are in the LaserSoft directory, including the SilverFast (EpsonIT8).dba plugin. Should I tell it this directory when the opening screen asks for the plugin directory?
