Which version?

I'm confused about all of the different versions of Silverfast. I know I want the ai version, but I don't know what the differences are between the regular "ai" and the "IT8" version and the multi-exposure version of ai. Can someone please help me understand the benefits of "IT8" and "multi-exposure" and why I might want to choose each?
Thank you very much.

Dear Cutomer,
The Multi-Exposure feature is increasing the actual dynamic range of the scanned image by making two scans with different exposure levels.
http://www.silverfast.com/highlights/mu ... re/en.htmlThe IT8 option is needed to calibrate the scanner using an IT8 target, our IT8 Calibration requiers just one click to calibrate your Scanner with our genuine LaserSoft Imaging targets.

Thanks Thomas -- But I don't understand what "IT8 targets" are. What is the benefit of being calibrated to an IT8 target?

Dear imaginator,
IT8 charts are charts with colorpatches which are measured in our lab and needed for scanner calibration.
You can buy these targets in our online shop.
As an addition we intorduced Kodachrome targets at the end of last year.
