Vista 64-bit Support

Sirs,

After my excellent experience with your product on Windows XP Professional, I purchased the SiverFast 6.6 upgrade (02/12/09) so I could use the product with my Epson Perfection 4870 Photo scanner in Windows Vista. I did not realize until after the purchase that SilverFast 6.6 will not work with Vista 64-bit. I also have a copy of Adobe CS4 on order and will be using the new suite with my scanner. Is there anything you can do to help get me going with my new configuration? Thank you in advance for your time and assistance!

Dear Michael,

As you correctly point out the incompatibility issues with Vista 64 are published on our website and in this forum. The only thing I believe you could try is to start the software in xp 32 bits mode, however we have not tried this option so I can not tell for sure if this works.

The good news is that we are testing a future version of SilverFast with very positive outcomes, most likely in the near future there will be in fact a compatible version of SilverFast with vista 64 bits for Epson scanners.

While you are at it you need to address the 64 bit version of Windows 7. I am currently running a test bed of build 7000 and plan to move my Eppson 4990 to the platform soon.

Dear Customers,

we do also consider Windows 7 32 & 64 Bit to be supported with many versions of SilverFast but we also must be aware that they are still beta.
