Hi help please.
I have purchased a Minolta Dimage scan elite 5400 (notII) and successfully used it as a trial on my low powered laptop with XP. I want to use it on my large desk top with Vista ultimate 32 installed. I did not need the hassle of buying an XP and dual boot, so was very please when it appeared you did a stand alone for the Ai and vista 32.
So downloaded the demo, Off with the PC, On with the scanner. there is some sort of connection as the scanner does wiss and whir but nothing else.
It does refer me to SF_Log File.txt but no trace of this can be found by me using search. The forum does help people find with XP but not with vista?
Will it help anyway?
The read me file does seem to suggest that maybe I should load the original Software on first, But it will not work on vista I think?
Your site and support is excellent by the way, suggesting I download and try the demo before purchase.

Dear Soldier,

It is necessary for your to install the driver from the manufacturer website, even though Minolta Konica does not offer one specific driver for Windows Vista (they close down the scanner division before Vista appeared) you can download and install the driver for Windows XP.

The driver can be found at:

You might then want to try operating SilverFast after installing the driver and restart your computer.
