Mr. President,

Forgive me if I sound rude or impatient, but would you mind answering this question for me. Thank you.

Free SilverFast Ai / HDR 5.5.2 and OSX Upgrade

Dear SilverFast Users,

we have decided to give all SilverFast 5.5 users a free upgrade to SilverFast Ai / HDR 5.5.2 as well as to the upcoming OSX version of HDR 5.5.2 and Ai 5.5.2 SCSI-versions.
SilverFast native OSX version will also contain SF_App, which together with the SilverFast Photoshop plug-in will make SilverFast a 'Stand-a-lone' application.
SF_App will also be avialble for OS9 and Windows for free.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean, Mr. President. Are you giving all Ai 5.5 owners a free copy of HDR? If so, how do we download it. I tried using my username and password to download HDR, but it didn't work.

Maybe I'm just confused, and you were saying that all Silverfast owners will recieve free upgrades to their respective Ai or HDR packages. If this is so, please let us know. Thank you,

Ian A.

Free Upgrade from SilverFast 5.5 to 5.5.2 and to V5.5.2 OSX

To further explain what is implied:

Someone having SilverFast Ai 5.5 Epson can upgrade his version to SF Ai 5.5.2 Epson.
Someone having SilverFast HDR 5.5 can upgrade his version to SF HDR 5.5.2.

So only the existing version can be upgraded!

Dear Mr. president!

With all respect for your great product:
Isn?t that just the way it should be, normaly? (this is relatet to the the sequence "5.5 users can upgrade for free to v5.5.2)
Usually updates in between major release numbers have to be free!
It would be really unfair to charge extra for every bugfix.
In my case, i received the CDs 3 days ago, and i have the version 5.5r08 on it, even when i asked in this forum before if i will get the last release and i was told "YES you get the latest release".
So would i have to pay just to get the latest release (btw. this was advertised on the homepage while ordering), it would have been the last time i bought your software!

Get me right, your product is very great and it has amazing features, but when i buy a version 5, then i expect to be able to update for free until the next major release. Otherwise one would have to give 1000$+ from v5 up to 5.9

friendly regards
Wolfgang

Mr. President,

Thank you for clearing things up for me. I assumed that is what you meant, but in the original post, the user was asking for a free copy of HDR so I wasn't sure. Personally, I have no need for HDR, I'm just very excited about the 48-bit output coming to AI!

In response to wolke, I use Silverfast for personal use and to make money. I paid for it with my first job after I bought it. I can't say enough about how much time Silverfast saves me. I used to spend hours scanning, color correcting, and then converting to CMYK. Now in minutes, I can scan an image into PhotoShop in CMYK mode that's 99% finished. Adding 48-bit output will let me work at an even higher level.

Mr. President, thanks again for making such a great product.
