I'm new to SF 6.6 and find it very frustrating. Whether scanning B/W negs or color negs, I get a nice result one time, then nothing but a mass of pixels the next. I've deleted the prefs. to no avail. I'm using SF as a stand alone or as a plug in w/ PS Elements. Same thing. I've tried restarting the computer and the scanner. It seems unpredictable.
I'm using a Mac G5 OSX10.5/Canoscan FS4000
Thanks
Mike

Dear Mike,
I never heard of a problem like yours before to me it appears that it could be a hardware issue.
Are you able to reproduce this behavior with the Canon Software ? If so it certainly is a problem of your scanners hardware.
If not please contact our support via our support asistent and send us a screenshot and the needed files.

Re: Prescans just a mass of pixels
find a different cable and start with that.
2nd check the power supply to the scanner is good ( input/output voltage on the xformer are correct)
run then canon scan software and see you get the same result.
If the canon software is ok, then there is likely an issue with the install for SF on the Mac.
