nikon 9000 preview

Hello, I am trying a demo version of SF 6.6 for the 9000. I normally use the AN rotating glass holder but switched to FH-869s (Glassless holder 6X20cm) to test for a stitching method
for 6x12. I assumed the scanner would preview the entire 6x20 window and I would be able to crop any where within that area (up to 6x9) .Instead it previews a very tight 6x9 crop. I have to move the neg. into that crop , I cant find any documentation on any other preview settings.IS this how it functions or is there another way? BTW The RGB histogram in the expansion window of negfix, which I rely on for setting my highlight and shadow values does not respond to changes in the exposure setting(Analogue gain). Many thanks, Joe

Dear Jo,
the hardware limits the length of the scan are to be approx 9cm ( 8,75... ).
There is no scanning beyond this, there only is a low res mode that nikon scan uses for the preview that can scan the full area in < 100 dpi, useless for the final scanresolution.

So you are stuck using a stitching Software if you want to get around this limit.

Greetings,

Hi Nils, Please re-read my original post . I was really asking if the scanner could give
me a preview of the entire 6x20cm scan area. I am aware that the scanner is restricted
to 6x9. Can I for instance put my neg in the in the middle of the holder ,then preview
the entire 6x20 holder , then crop (up to 6x9) . this may sound like a silly question but at
the moment I cant do this. What I get is a preset 6x9 scan area which I have to MOVE
THE NEG INTO, the rest of the frame is black. I can make the crop smaller but cannot move it
Many Thanks, Joe
