Hello, I realize that this is an old topic which has been addressed many times in the past. The answer to the question
"is it possible to scan larger than 6x9 on a Nikon 9000ED" has been NO! because Silverfast was built on top of
Nikons software (MAID Libraries).Nikons software prevented this. LaserSoft is in the process of re-writing this
Software from the ground up. What better time to explore the possibility that the 9000ed can scan up to 6x17?
I suspect it can. If you are interested please let LaserSoft know (and possibly mention this on other sites).

We basically support all of the film holders for the Nikon LS9000ED.
The Problem is that the maximum size of 6 x 9 cm the Scanner is limited to is a limitation of the Scanner hardware itself
and not a limitation of the maid library. You can make an overview scan which covers a much larger area but this is done by a seperate carriage
that sole purpose is doing overview scans that are limited to 100dpi but the carriage that is doing the highres endscan has this 6 x 9 CM limitation.
