Scanning with 48 Bit HDR Color

Hello,
I'm starting with SilverFast 6.6, I have just bought a Plustek 7300 (Win XP 32Bit) and I'm trying to scan using 48 Bit HDR Color, Pre-scan is OK but the scan just make a picture of my negative, so I have a nice big photo of my negative, interesting but ... Other scan types work well. So I have read all materials I could find on your website, including Darkroom, but til now I can't find out what is the problem, I do believe I am doing something wrong but where? That is the question!
Thanks for your help.

Dear embar_go,
when scanning in 48BIT HDR mode SilverFast is not aplying settings like the NegaFix conversion to the scanned image.
This is due to the fact that the 48BIT HDR Scan is a Scanner RAW file, you can apply all the optimisation later on in SilverFast HDR
this is actual a very good soloution as you have the RAW file and can decide after the actual scan how to process it.
Many of our customers really like this workflow.

Thanks for your answer, after all what I had read about HDR I was expecting this kind of explanation since it looks like that mode works really in a different way than the others.
This is due to the fact that the 48BIT HDR Scan is a Scanner RAW file, you can apply all the optimisation later on in SilverFast HDR
Remember that I'm a genuine beginner, so, does it mean that from the scan we get, which is just a basic picture of the negativ, then we can transform this file into a picture by using a specific soft?

Hey there,
i also have problem with 48bit hdr.
i am using a epson v700 and silverfast SE.
i am getting amazing results of my negatives when scanning with the 48 Bit HDR Color mode. but when i open up in photoshop the image is negative (which is not the problem) but it has an awful green/cyan color cast.
its takes lots of work to get rid off.
i am i doing something wrong here ?
how can i avoid this color cast?
best
Marcus

Dear Marcus,
you have to understand that the 48BIt tiff files SilverFast are basically RAW files from the Scanner so there are no chnages applied.
Please select 48 -> 24 Bit in order to use the pictures with Photoshop.
For handling these 48 BIT HDR files I would recommend our SilverFast HDR which is perfect for streamlining your workflow.

Dear Marcus,
if you do the same settings in SilverFast HDR as you did in SilverFast Ai the picture should look the same.
please ensure you have selected the checkebox for optimising the gamma for HDR output.
