Multiexposure and IT8 only in full version?

I am getting a headache from trying to choose a version for my Minolta 5400, version 1 scanner.

I need both Multiexposure and IT8 capability. SE Plus has multiexposure, but no IT8. The more expensive "Ai" version doesn't have multiexposure, but offers IT8 optional. That doesn't make sense!.

Why take multiexposure away from Ai version? Why not offer IT8 optional in SE Plus?

Is this some kind of marketing ploy to get users to buy the full version (Ai Studio) for over $300?

"Ai" version costs more, and it should contain all features of SE Plus version.

Note to your marketing team:
Each version should build up feature set from the previous edition. Not take away features.

--->More Features ----->
SE -> SE Plus -> Ai -> Ai Studio

Get the hint?
Now please explain why these features are missing.

Dear supervhs,

thanks for sharing your opinion with us. Since we receive a lot of requests from users who would like to use IT8 but no MultiExposure, we decided to offer the Ai with IT8 "only". Please keep in mind that there are quite a few users doing reflective scans most of the time. Those users would not want to pay for options that they will not use. BTW the Ai version costs more than SEplus due to the fact that it contains a lot more functionality than the SEplus, like CMYK output, Jobmanager, extended controls and colormanagement, extended descreening, etc. etc.

Best,
JAN
