Hello,

the thing is for your scanner there are two AIs available, namely SilverFast Ai and SilverFast Ai IT8 as you can see here:

https://www.silverfast.com/order

Say if you haven't got Ai IT8, which naturally comes with targets, you cannot calibrate your scanner using SF.

It varies BTW and while I've got Ai IT8 for my Nikon I've got plain Ai for my Epson which came with MonacoEZcolor with which I can calibrate that flatbed.

I don't know what is included with your model but in short either you've got something to calibrate your scanner already or you may look for a free spot on the wall and start banging your head into it 8-}

Alternatively you may upgrade the version you've got and yes, IT8 targets ARE costly.

So sorry for the bad news, but as it seems you simply did not order the right version,
Juergen

an upgrade to the IT8 version is usually availible. ALternatively, if you have other software that profiles the scanner , you can use that software and plug in the profile in the CMS option page.

See Ian Lyon's tutorial at

www.computer-darkroom.com

for SF CMS settings.

I've got Ai IT8, and an IT8 target slide that came with an older scanner I purchased 6 years ago, but I've got no profile for that target to load in my software, and there is no bar code on the target . It's designation appears to be as follows:

IT8.7/1-1993 T2X C-ROES
1999:10

Any way I can find a profile for that target or otherwise utilize it to calibrate my scanner? (which is a Dimage 5400 Elite II)

Thanks

Perhaps this helps:

Of yourse you need to look whether LaserSoft still has the IT8 file available on their server(s).

Oh and note 6 years is a bit old so you may not have good results due to an aged target, but worth a try for sure.
