*.jpf and *.jpeg 48bit

Hi,

I can not open my scans generated in the 48bit clour modus and saved as *.jpeg and JPEG2000 (*.jpf) on my computer. Photoshop CS 8.0 is not able to import them. Doese anybody know if I need a special driver or something like this??

Save the files a TIFF and you will be able to open them.

I can open them as *.tif, but the file size is very inconvenient to work with (slide show program m.objects).

Which program can handle 12bit jpegs?

If you use the 48->24 bit scan mode you will be able to do what you want. SilverFast is telling you the total bits and Photoshop is talking bits per channel, so 48-bit in SilverFast translates to 16-bit in Photoshop, and 24-bit in SilverFast translates to 8-bit in Photoshop.

This is what I did so far. But since I want to use the ME function, I have to choose the "48bit Clour" modus. By doing so, silverfats generates 12-bit JPEG files which I can not open with Photoshop.

I have been looking at the trial version of Adobe Light Room. I did a little test and found that it is able to open 12-bit jpg files. I also tried to open them in the CS3 beta, but that did not work.

A fix for the Photoshop CS3 problem is now available for download on our website. The SilverFast plugin version 6.5.0r6 itself has not being changed. Therefor the version number still is the same.
