Ejecting film with Nikon 5000 ED?

Hi,

I finally got my Silverfast AI Sutudio settings straight for my 5000 ED and Mac Pro CPU and am starting to scan using the official SF Guide to guide me.

Call me blind, but I can't find the way to eject a film strip from the scanner. I can't find whatever I need to click or whatever to get the machine to eject the film. And can't find it in the guide index or the Manual index. I found something in the FAQs of these forums, but do not see the symbol shown in the answer on my SF interface.

Can anyone help me?

How do I eject film from a 5000ED using SF AI Studio?

Thanks,

Mark

I am somewhat surprised.

It would almost seem that I am not the only one who can't find a way to eject the film at will with the Nikon 5000ED scanner, other than to simply quit Silverfast altogether.

Could that be?

In the meantime, I hope I won't have to learn v**s**n after all the trouble I've gone to for the SF settings and setup, etc. My Nikon Scan software isn't an option, as it doesn't work with the new Intel-based macs and Nikon hasn't done a thing about that.

Scanning with the Macs would seem to be a mess at the moment, with SF the best option, if one could only figure it out.

Dear Mark,

There is a button located in the left-hand side of the pre-scan window to eject the filmstrip. It looks like this:
