I have some slides that have some dark areas in it....when I brighten them up in photoshop after scanning i get in some parts quite ugly parts that are very grainy and have a magenta color cast. can I avoid them somehow?
I read that some people scan twice (once for the highlights, once for the dark areas) and than combine in photoshop .... but I cant find an option to control exposure...
also i tried auto-image that controls the light well...but changes colors of my images into something terrible.
I also tried 16xmultiscan, but it didn't help

The "Histogram" in SilverFast will allow you to adjust the image tonality. You will do well to create three scans; highlights, mid-tones, shadows, in order to get better results with Photoshop?s Merge To HDR.

I think you will still find noise in the images and recommend that you give "Noise Ninja" (Photoshop plug-in) a try.

I am able to merge images in photoshop but I don't know, how i can get three scans for highlight midtones shadows. what settings do I need for this?
